Harald (Jordy) Jordahl is the first director of America’s Watershed Initiative, starting the position in January 2013. He works with America’s Watershed Initiative Steering Committee and leads the initiative working with a diverse coalition of businesses, agencies and organizations committed to developing collaborative solutions to challenges facing water resources throughout the entire Mississippi River watershed.
Amy Walkenbach began her career at IL EPA in 1987 working in several programs over the years. She primarily oversees the NPS (Nonpoint Source) Program, the TMDL (total maximum daily load) Program, implementation of the Illinois Nutrient Reduction Strategy and program manager for the Clean Water and Public Water Supply State Revolving Loan programs.
Jean Payne, President of the Illinois Fertilizer & Chemical Association, since 2004 involved in the management of the IFCA including oversight of regulatory and legislative issues that impact the industry. She has served on the Board of Directors for the Ag Retailers Association, The Fertilizer Institute, the Mid America Crop Life Association, and the American Agronomic Stewardship Alliance. She also served as the first Administrator for the Illinois Nutrient Research & Education Council.
Marcus de la fleur is a Registered Landscape Architect and owner of the design and consulting firm de la fleur LLC in Chicago, IL. Marcus has contributed to the design and management of multiple sustainable projects (some of them LEED registered or certified) and has extensive field experience in sustainable technologies through his past work in Germany, Switzerland, and Great Britain. He is devoted to the integration of sustainable design, ecology, and storm-water management.
Val Johnson serves on the Board of Directors of the “Water and Sanitation Rotary Action Group”, representing North America in Rotary’s quest to provide safe water, sanitation and hygiene education throughout the world. As the owner and Principal Strategist of Roundabout Marketing, LLC, she strategizes with non-profits, and other businesses to open new marketing segments. Her company is particularly focused on the WASH in Schools initiative (Water, Sanitation and Hygiene education at schools in developing nations) .
